I was a game designer at Outplay, creating features and mechanics for Angry Birds Pop and Pirate Puzzle Blast. I was also lead QA on Mystery Match, growing the team and training new team members.
At Stand-Out games, I was lead designer on Crystal Maze.
Angry Birds Pop!
At Outplay, I designed features and content for the award-winning game studio in Scotland. I primarily worked on three projects: Angry Birds Pop, Booty Quest, and Mystery Match.
I created the metagame feature Pop-a-Pig which raised revenue by 20% and increased user session length for Angry Birds Pop. I also created two Super Boost events for which increased player progression and retention. I designed UI update featuring boost highlighting to improve player progression and messaging.
Design Highlights
I designed the VIP League for Angry Birds Pop! This infinite mode supports end-of-content players. A ticketing system lets players collect pigs for points. This feature was successful and is still implemented in the game.
Pirate Puzzle Blast
I designed an event system for their new title Pirate Puzzle Blast (titled Booty Quest on launch). I created a collection event and a progression event, each of which increased player retention, progression, and revenue.
I also created game mechanics and level content on tight deadlines for weekly updates for each project, focused on player engagement, solid KPIs, and a fun and engaging player experience.
Mystery Match
During my time at Outplay Entertainment, I also worked as Lead QA Tester, training team members and establishing process for the project.
Crystal Maze
At Standout Games, I was lead designer creating game modes for reboot of Crystal Maze, working in conjunction with Tag Studios. I worked to set the vision of the product, and presented to stakeholders.
